Have You Eaten?

The expression “have you eaten?” is as common a greeting, if not more so, than “how are you?” in the culture I grew up in. It suggests a familiar feeling of love and care as a relative or friend invites you into their home. For AAPI month this year, I was a part of a large community collective that aimed to bring several Asian American cultures together under this sentiment. I was honored to play creative director and designer in building a visual and physical space that highlighted the vibrant cafe culture prevalent in Asia.
